Visit of the School of Law By A Delegation of Case Western Reserve University School of Law

2012-10-29

In the morning of October 25, Vice Dean Zhiqiang Wang of our law school had a meeting with Dean Lawrence E. Mitchell and Prof. Jon Groetzinger of Case Western Reserve University School of Law (CWRU) . CWRU is located in the State of Ohio and is one of the oldest law schools in the United States. Its LL.M. Program in International Law is ranked the 11th among the US law schools, and its legal and medical center as well as the intellectual property law faculty also rank among the top.

Fudan University School of Law has established a formal cooperative relationship with CWRU since 2009 and we have reached mutual understanding with each other on student exchange and faculty exchange. The student exchange program has been running well. Among them, the “3+1” program for the undergraduate students provides with our students an opportunity to study for three years at Fudan, and then one year at CWRU, and will received both Fudan’s LL.B. and CWRU’s LL.M. if the graduation requirements of both schools are satisfied. The CWRU will provide partial tuition waiver for our students thus admitted. After the meeting, Dean Mitchell and Prof. Groetzinger gave a speech to the third year undergraduate students. Further cooperation between the two schools is strongly expected. (Lingyun Gao)
